About WorldSkills Malta

A Malta powered by skills excellence.

Malta re-joined WorldSkills Europe in June 2026 and is officially represented by the National Skills Council, a government entity within the Ministry for Education and Sport. The Council aims to bridge the gap between education and industry. It is responsible for leading Malta’s first National Skills Strategy, conducting labour market and skills intelligence, and promoting the development of future-ready skills across the country.

Through its participation in WorldSkills Europe, Malta is committed to strengthening and showcasing vocational skills excellence at both national and international levels. This initiative supports the promotion of vocational education and training (VET) as a high-quality and rewarding pathway, enhances the parity of esteem for VET, encourages youth participation, and fosters innovation and skills excellence.

The National Skills Council is working closely with Malta’s two leading VET institutions, Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) and the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), together with industry partners and other stakeholders, to connect education, industry and policy through the WorldSkills platform. This collaboration will provide young people, educators and professionals with opportunities to engage with international peers, exchange best practices, showcase local talent, and contribute to the continuous development of Malta’s skills ecosystem.
